A New Year, A New Post and a New Baby

So it's been FOREVER since I have posted on my blog. I really love reading and catching up on your blogs yet I have let mine get sorely out of date. I can't say that I will be 100% on top of it but I'd really like to keep up especially since we have a new baby in the family and if I keep up mine then it will be easier to help Amie keep up hers, or rather for me to update both.
So it's been an interesting new year. Blake started the of the new year recovering from Pneumonia, not fun! Then Kobe got strep throat followed by Blake getting a double ear infection. Meanwhile, we found out that my Grandma Dorothy passed away which is really very sad! Then I get a text from Amie that there was an issue with her pregnancy and the baby was coming early. Jason was in Florida and she was all alone in the hospital. They were planning on taking the baby around 8 pm and he wasn't going to be in until closer to midnight so I got on the next flight and made it to the hospital in Irvine around 6. Since it was not super urgent they were able to wait until the morning for Jason to be there so little Stella was born at 6:15 am on Saturday, January 16th. She is so tiny, 6 lbs 11 oz and adorable! She's 18 1/2 inches and has the smallest little feet. She is really very cute we all fell in love with her right away. We haven't been able to spend time with her and the boys can't wait to meet her but in time we will all get to have a little fill of that precious baby!

mom update

All is well here with mom. She is continually improving and getting better daily. This past month has been super busy with appointments. Since she's at the 6 month mark and done with her chemo it was time for all of her evaluations. She had an angiogram in Sacramento that looks great, there is still some healing taking place and a few areas that are in the early healing stages but all in all it looks super. She had her cognitive testing, follow-ups with every doctor, lots of running around and tiring days but we are finally at the end. After next week she will no longer be with Kaiser, a total bummer because we LOVE her doctors and care, but maybe someday she'll be able to go back.
She also started a class at the JC. We've only gone one day because she had too many appts the first week. Hopefully it will be good for her. It's two days a week in Santa Rosa and is called Coping Strategies and is a class for people who have acquired brain injuries.
Oh, and I've gotten her into playing on the Wii. So she will battle it out with Kobe and my dad. She likes driving MarioKart and BoomBlocks. It's Dang Fun!

New Camera Pics

I finally was able to purchase my new camera and LOVE it. I really don't know how to use it and Eric got some way better shots with it than I did, but it's still very fun to use. I need to get a bigger memory card though because I keep filling my 2 GB up too fast. Here are some pics Eric and I took.

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We spent the day just chillin around the house. Amie came to visit with her dogs and that was a lot of fun. We had our family party over the weekend. Everything was really nice. We just enjoyed being with each other.

The nice blanket Aunt Kathy made for mom.

HAPPY NEW YEAR- 2009!
